An AC accumulator drier is used on CCOT (clutch cycling orifice tube) systems and is installed on the low side of the system at the evaporator outlet. It is constructed to collect any liquid refrigerant that leaves the evaporator and prevents it from going to the compressor. The receiver drier is used on expansion valve systems and is on the high side of the system between the condenser and the expansion valve. It stores liquid refrigerant and includes desiccant.
